good friday

…good Friday and hot cross buns…

Good Friday or Holy Friday is being celebrated every year to commemorate the crucifixion of Christ and it is the Friday preceding the Easter Sunday. It is said that once buns marked with symbol of cross were being served on Good Friday and since then these cross buns become tradition of Good Friday or Easter and the cross reminds Christ’s supreme sacrifice.

Hot cross buns

Hot cross buns

These hot cross buns are made with rich and creamy milk and with generous knobs of butter and iced with a cross. These buns are generally of fruity flavor and are sweetly spiced with cinnamon or nutmegs and are filled with dried currants or nuts.
