Viewfinder – Project 365 Days on food, travel, life and beyond
{Day 1 }
Black and white photographs does not attract with its play of colors but they have tremendous power to communicate. The composition, lighting, perspective and with varied shades of grey, and playing with shadows gives a character to the subject and makes it more appealing.
Below are two of my shots where I choose to define Garlic today: am an amateur photographer and my first attempt to compose in black and white. These pics are taken by normal PS camera, hope you will like my first attempt. You are free to criticize it, and would love to hear your feed backs.
Photo 1 : Garlic : all three together, happy as shown by their reflection, and here light is allowed to flow form the sides giving them a bright and cheery look. Only adjustment for clarity is being done.
Photo 2: Garlic : they are together but separated, lost in their own world…thinking…brooding…
Light is allowed to flow from behind, reflecting their moods.
Sharing these photographs with Susan’s black and white Wednesdays.
Have a good day

August 10, 2011 at 1:48 pmBeautiful and elegant- which is something you don’t use for garlic usually.
But the photographs capture the rustic beauty of garlic

August 11, 2011 at 9:05 amThanx everyone for liking it and admiring it, now I am little bit encouraged to pursue more on black and white photos.
@Nisha…I am so happy that you liked it, and yes it was shot with P&S, as DSLR is still a dream for me..however, these shots will always lack the depth of field.
