Watermelons are the star of the summer fruits but mangoes always steals the show because of their ability in innovating desserts, but when it comes to quench the thirst on a hot sweaty summer afternoons, watermelon is the next best thing to stay healthy other than drinking plain water.
Ingredients:
Watermelon chunks (cut into cubes and de-seeded): 2 large cups
Ginger juice: 2 tsp
Juice of one ripe lemon
Honey : 2 tsp
Mint leaves : few
Method:
Blend perfectly the watermelon chunks, with ginger juice, juice of lemon, few mint leaves and add two spoon of honey. Serve chilled. To serve immediate, use the chilled watermelon chunks.
Honey is used here to replace the sugar, sourness of lemon will complement the sugary taste of watermelon, ginger juice will add the required punch and mint leaves will lend a refreshing touch to this lemonade. To make it slushy you can use the crushed ice.
Nutritional benefits of watermelon:
Watermelons contains 92% water and 6% sugar, an excellent source of vitamin A, C and B6, high in potassium and low in sodium.
